Lexington has an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join our growing boutique corporate finance advisory business. We are looking to recruit graduates for a full-time, three-year training contract. We will provide in-role training while you complete your professional qualifications.

The role will be based in our Cardiff city centre office and is offering a competitive package (competitive market salary, fully subsidised training support, private healthcare, salary sacrifice pension scheme and more).

As an Associate you will form a key part of our dynamic and entrepreneurial deal team, assisting the team in delivering the day-to-day corporate finance advisory services to our clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial analysis of financial statements and Excel models;
  • Research, including buyer research and valuation research using software and databases, including S&P, Mergermarket, Companies House and others;
  • Production of strategic buyer and funder lists;
  • Input into client deliverables including teaser documents and Information Memorandums, typically in PowerPoint;
  • Preparation of client pitch and presentation materials;
  • Initial contact with potential buyers and funders including the issue of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs);
  • Firm Compliance work including onboarding checks and preparation of new client engagement materials;
  • Liaising with clients and attending meetings, where required;
  • Attendance at some networking events alongside other team members;
  • Assistance and compilation of business development materials, including target lists; and
  • Undertake initial ACA exams (or other relevant professional qualification) alongside the job role.

Essential experience:

  • Will be working towards a degree (1st or 2:1) in a relevant subject;
  • An understanding of, and a desire to complete, a further professional qualification such as the ACA;
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills;
  • General IT proficiency and understanding of Microsoft Office Applications; and
  • Driven, ambitious and determined to succeed.
