Company Disposals
Disposing of a company you have been instrumental in founding and developing is one of the most emotionally and technically challenging tasks that a founder will encounter. The Lexington team will support you as you navigate your way through the process, from preparing your business for sale, to completion of the transaction.
Our process for selling your business
We will perform an initial review of your company to help you agree on your best strategy for sale. We will also discuss with you what the main drivers are for making this decision and what goals you want to achieve from the sale.
It’s important to get your business in the best position possible ahead of embarking upon a sales process. We will help you get everything in order to avoid issues later down the line. Based on what you hope to achieve, we will help you position the business for sale in a way that best achieves your goals.
We will prepare a price parameter review of your business, using our knowledge and expertise of the market, to provide you with a realistic and achievable view on what offers you can expect to be achieved.
We will do this by drawing upon our team’s knowledge and experience of completing business sales complimented by our access to proprietary databases to review comparable transactions and comparable, listed companies in your sector.
We will research and identify potential buyers for your business, utilising our experience to approach the right buyers in order to achieve the best outcome for you.
Lexington has significant experience of cross-border transactions and is a member of the international corporate finance network, Eaton Square. This means we are ideally placed to help you secure offers from organisations right across the world.
Once the buyers have been approached and interested parties have emerged, we will negotiate with these in order to deliver you attractive offers for your business. We will advise you on the best strategy to achieve your goals, and support you through this process until we agree Heads of Terms with your buyer.
Finally, we will project manage the sale transaction to successful completion. This includes orchestrating the due diligence process and coordinating other advisers involved on both sides of the deal.
We will use our extensive Dealcraft to ensure that the sale process runs smoothly, without any changes to the price or structure and completes to timetable.
